Transform, 2020

When Covid-19 resulted in most countries locking down, a lot of artgalleries and museums responded with the digization of their art collection. Spectators could now experience their favourite expostions on their favourite screens. Those vitrual experiences, made for massive transformations of a lot of work, due to the somewhat crooked translation of art to the digital platform.

Can a image of an artwork on your phone be considered the artwork, or is it just a mere representation?

Should fysical art be digitized at all, with the risk of doing ruïning the experience of art?

Is digital real?

'Transform' is a exposition of, and a reaction to, the flawed digitization and transformation of art during the Covid-19 lockdown.

The work includes the following digitized experiences:

Groninger museum, Groningen.

Gemäldegalerie, Berlin.

National museum of modern Contemporary Art, Korea.
